Aquaponics In Schools

Great For School Gardens – Multiple Subject Teaching Tool!

Aquaponics is a great teaching tool that will complement the curriculum for many subject areas in grade, middle, and high school.  We have noticed more and more K – 12 schools incorporating aquaponics in the classroom, in school gardens, and in greenhouses to help make learning STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) subjects more hands on and interesting. Of course the number of subject areas (i.e, not limited to STEM, such as business and entrepreneurship) and educational applications to create lesson plans around are only limited by the teacher’s imagination! In addition to K-12 schools, colleges and universities are teaching and incorporating aquaponics into various programs as well.

Our large complete aquaponics system kits are the preferred choice for the majority of our school and educational customers. They ship with everything needed to get started (except the water & fish), are plug & play, and can be setup quickly. If an outdoor system is not a feasible option at your school, our large systems can be setup indoors with grow lights or our Eden would also be suitable for a smaller classroom aquaponics system setting.

School Garden Project Ideas:

Aquaponics is the perfect solution for schools looking for gardening project ideas! As mentioned above, there are many ways to teach with aquaponics. Our kits range from our Eden, which is perfect for a small classroom indoor system, to midsize systems great for a little outdoor space, all the way up to our large systems perfect for inside a greenhouse!
